SENTIMENTAL REFLECTIONS SERIES 8 WINTER EDITION - DVD
Sentimental Reflections travels the country to produce the video series that celebrates America's heritage in story, scenery and song. The 45-minute DVD is released each Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter.
These videos are about America and Americans, as we are and as we were. They offer unique glimpses of Americana.
Each edition of Sentimental Reflections includes six regular segments: Cover Story, Scenic America, On A Musical Note, Off the Beaten Path, Time Capsule & a Seasonal Feature."We travel the country to create each edition," said James P. Delaney, Executive Producer of Sentimental Reflections. "We always strive for a lively variety of features to continually present entertaining and informative programs for our viewers."
The Sentimental Reflections series is an annual production: four DVDs are published each year, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, and each is dated with the year, to give each a unique designation. So,for example, there is a Summer 2010 edition and a Winter 2011 Edition. The year of the edition has nothing to do with the contents - these videos are timeless. A selection from Autumn 2009 can be as timely and relevant as the most recent production. We have chosen to eliminate the year from our descriptions to avoid this confusion. Make your choices from the Sentimental Reflections series based on content, not on date or season.
The Winter Edition features a trip along Kentucky's Bourbon Trail, where distillers have joined together to promote one of the Bluegrass State's most popular exports. We also look back 50 years to remember the election and inauguration of President Kennedy and see spectacular scenes of the New River in West Virginia as well as a horse-drawn carriage parade.
COVER STORYKentucky's Bourbon Trail: Kentucky has long enjoyed a great reputation for making bourbon. But only in recent years have its distilleries banded together to create Kentucky's Bourbon Trail. It's a way of bragging about their products and attracting lots of tourists.
SCENIC AMERICANew River, West Virginia: The scenery is stunning along the New River in West Virginia. From various vantage points, we take in scenes that are eye-pleasing in any season.
ON A MUSICAL NOTEBy The Old Mill Stream: Tell Taylor was inspired to write "Down By The Old Mill Stream" while sitting on the banks of the Blanchard River, near Findlay, Ohio. The song was first published 100 years ago.
OFF THE BEATEN PATHLebanon, Ohio: Lebanon, Ohio, has been described as a town that Norman Rockwell might have painted. The Golden Lamb, Ohio's oldest inn, helps give the city its legends and its charm.
TIME CAPSULE1960 Presidential Election: The presidential race between John Kennedy and Richard Nixon in 1960 was historic in many ways. We look back on the race, including the first televised presidential debate.
SEASONAL FEATUREHorse-Drawn Carriage Parade: Only horse-drawn carriages are allowed in an annual parade in Lebanon, Ohio, which draws lots of spectators every year
