You are very likely involved in the care of someone with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia. You know that it is a full time job, involving the better part of your attention every hour you are awake. Video Respite® was created to give you a break in that routine, to give you a little time for yourself in your busy day. Time to write a letter, prepare a meal, or just be by yourself.
These thirteen videos were designed to hold the attention of people with Alzheimer's. Using music, movement, and reminiscence, each of the videos establishes a real dialog between the person on the television and the person watching. A friendship results. Not only are you given a respite, but the loved one in your care benefits from this friendship.
The Respite Videos have been used very successfully in the home and with groups in nursing homes and day care centers.
