About Best Alzheimer's Products

Best Alzheimer's Products started as a content website - you can check it out HERE.  The idea was born after our close family friend was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and we became her primary caregivers.  Not knowing how to care for her, we spent countless hours reading and researching to learn what the "experts" were saying.  At that time, only a few years ago, it was very difficult to find quality information about how best to care for a person who has dementia, and the more we learned, the more we realized that education and knowledge are the caregivers most important tool. best-alzheimers-products.com was our contribution to a  growing body of knowledge and help for the caregiver of persons with dementia.

Sometime later we launched a store to make available the activities, books, therapies, and other aids that we found so useful when caring for our friend, Bernice. As we continue our research and discover new products, both the website and the store continue to grow, so be sure to bookmark them and come back often to visit.

Our Mission:At Best Alzheimer's Products, we are striving to make life better for people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and for the people who care for them.

Staying active is an important key to maintaining quality of life. More and more, products are being designed specifically for people with Alzheimer's disease. Many products that aren't can still provide meaningful and appropriate activity for people with memory and cognitive disorders. Preserving independence is another key to quality of life, and aids for daily living (ADLs) are products that do just that. An ADL might be a telephone that helps dial the right number, a pill dispenser that ensures proper dosage, or a remote that makes watching TV easier. Entertainment is a component of everyone's quality of life, but what entertains most of us will, depending on the stage or severity, just confuse a person with memory loss or another cognitive disorder. Appropriate entertainment is a big part of a comprehensive care package. A good, stage appropriate video program, one that will engage the attention of a person with dementia, can also give a caregever a welcome respite from the duties of providing care.

There are activities, ADLs and entertainment  appropriate for persons who have Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia, products that will not only improve life for these individuals, but make things easier and better for the caregiver. Unfortunately, finding these products is a time consuming venture - until now! The Best Alzheimer's Products store is a one-stop-shop for the caregiver. And we're getting better all the time, thanks in part to our visitors and customers. We always welcome your suggestions - please feel free to contact us with your ideas and recommendations. Or if you are looking for something you just can't find we will always do our best to help!

We hope that you will find the store user friendly and we are available by phone during extended business hours should you have questions. You can be confident that your personal and financial information is safe. Your purchases will be delivered in a timely manner, and we stand behind the products we sell.

The products in the Alzheimer's Store are selected first for the benefit that they have for people with dementia. The quality of manufacture is our next consideration. We have rejected many products that do not meet our standard. If you ever have a question about anything we offer, please contact us, either by telephone, or by filling out a form.

The selections in our Alzheimer's Store are all based on our research. Not all of the products will be right for everyone. You know your situation better than we do, and you will be better able to make appropriate choices. Some of the things are better for men; others are better for women. It usually doesn't matter. The stage of the disease is an important consideration in choosing an activity. We have made stage-appropriateness suggestions on most products that you can use as a guideline. Remember; since you know him or her or them, you are the best judge of what will work best for the person or the people in your care.

Many of our discoveries come from visitors' suggestions. Please call or email with yours — we would love to hear them!  In the meantime, we hope you enjoy your visit.

To all of you, from all of us at Best Alzheimer's Products - Thank you and Happy Shopping!
